Macon County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm current custody, confirm a release, release anyone, post bond, or pull an official booking record or photo. Contact the agency that created or holds the record.

Start With Macon County Jail

The Macon County Sheriff’s Office operates the Macon County Jail and is the first contact for a current county-custody question or a request for a booking sheet and intake photograph. No separate records-unit line, public request form, published booking-photo fee, or verified office hours were found. Call before mailing or visiting so the office can identify the current open-records custodian and accepted delivery method.

Macon County Sheriff’s Office

117 Crescent Street
Oglethorpe, GA 31068
Mail: P.O. Box 345

478-472-6447

Ask for current records direction, custody confirmation, and visiting information before traveling.

A focused written request should name the person, approximate booking date, and the specific record sought. The arresting city agency may hold the incident report, while MCSO holds the county intake file. The Macon County booking page gives the request sequence and Georgia Open Records Act timing.

Where to Send the Question

Use the office that matches the custody state or record type.

  • For an Oglethorpe report, contact Oglethorpe Police at 500 Sumter Street, 478-472-7538, or use the city public-information request route.
  • For a filed case or disposition, start with the Georgia Courts e-access directory and confirm the correct court.
  • For a sentenced state offender record or photo, use the Georgia Department of Corrections search.
  • For federal prison or ICE detention, use the BOP locator or ICE locator; neither is a county mugshot system.

Before Sending a Request

Ask for an existing record, not a new analysis. A useful request identifies the person, agency, date range, booking number if known, and whether an electronic copy is acceptable. Ask the custodian to identify any exemption and release a reasonably segregable public portion. Request an estimate before a broad search.

Do not assume that a person’s absence from a private page proves the absence of a booking. A release, transfer, juvenile rule, sealing order, or an absent public interface can explain the gap. Current custody and historical records are separate questions.
